Today, we went to the Doctor's for an ultrasound and our last routine appointment. We found out that Baby V was much bigger than what we expected according to the ultrasound. His/Her estimated weight today was about 8lbs 5 Oz. Yikes!! Looks like someone is trying to compete with their cousin Macyn... My fluid was also borderline low, it was around 9. Not dangerous but we were not recommended to wait too much longer because of a couple reasons. First, the baby grows about an ounce a day and if we were to wait another week our baby could be over 9 lbs 5 Oz. Second, the size of the baby would obviously increase the need for a C-section and it could be a dangerous delivery if the baby doesn't come all the way and injuries could incur. Lastly, though my fluid wasn't at a concerning level, it could drop and that could be dangerous and require a C-section if emergency labor is required. So Harris and I decided not to wait for this baby to come on its own because he/she seems pretty comfortable in there and doesn't seem like it is moving anywhere any time soon. BTW, did I mention that I only dilated a 1/2 a cm in a week and one day??? Yes, I couldn't believe it. I am still only 1 1/2 cm dilated. Oh well...
So I am scheduled to go into the hospital tonight at 6pm and be given some medication. The induction process will begin tomorrow, October 8th and hopefully we will be able to meet our little one safe and healthy tomorrow. Wish us luck and please keep Baby V in your prayers.
