lots of cooing and talking

Ari has been doing really great! He has been cooing and having very interesting conversations with Mommy and Daddy. He loves to talk! Especially when he is laying down on his changing table... Seriously! As soon as we lay him down there to change him, he starts talking up a storm. It doesn't matter if it is right after waking up, he will lay there and laugh, smile, and talk. I love hearing him talk and making his baby noises. He is progressing very well and I pray that it continues. I can't wait for him to say his first word! I'm thinking, "Mama". Only because I swear when he is crying he manages to say, "mamamamaaaaaa....."

6 weeks old

I can't believe our little boy is 6 weeks old already. He is getting so big and is changing and progressing everyday. Here are a few pics of Ari posing with his "How you doin'?" (with a Joey from Friends voice) and him watching TV. :-P

One month old!!

Baby Ari is 1 month old today. I can't believe he is already a month old. He is getting so big so fast. Here are a few pics of our little angel.

Ari fell asleep in his bed on his own for the very first time

Usually, I feed Ari and hold him or burp him until he falls asleep but this morning was different. I knew he was getting sleepy but I had so much to do around the house I thought I would try to put him down in his bed and see what happens. A few minutes later I took a peek and found him sleeping. YEAH!! He fell asleep on his own. No rocking, cradling, bouncing, nada. Now of course I have to mention that I played the rain and thunderstorm ambiance sound for him which usually is very soothing for him and tends to make him very sleepy to begin with. I don't expect this to happen again soon or even ever again but I am so happy. I am always afraid that I am spoiling him and he will not be able to do things like fall asleep on his own. But I have to keep reminding myself that he is only 3 1/2 weeks old. There is no such thing as spoiling as this age..... At least I hope.

Feeling bummed...

So I realized that Charlotte, NC is about 7 hours away. We thought the trip to see Auntie Jen, Uncle Dax, and Cousin Macyn would be about 4 hours but when I map quested it to check our approximate arrival time, that when I found out the harsh truth! This sucks because now we are not going to making the trip because I am not comfortable with little Ari on a 7 hour drive at least because that is not taking into consideration, traffic, stops, feedings, diaper changes, etc...

I was really looking forward to this weekend and now it looks like, we are going to have to wait for Christmas time for the cousins to meet. I am really bummed and wish Charlotte was alittle closer...

The cousins will finally meet

So we are finally able to go down to Charlotte to visit Jennifer and Macyn. Ari and Macyn will meet for the first time on November 7th and I cant wait to take tons of pics and blog about it. It will be so nice to see my sister as a Mom and to meet my little or not so little niece... :)

I am so excited! I almost want to start packing now but I know that is really not possible or very practical. The cool thing is Ari and Macyn have so much of the same things because Jen and I registered for the same thing (unplanned) so it will be much like being at home for him. Except with another baby there of course.

It's gonna be very interesting! Can't wait to tell you all about it....

Ari's first bath

Ari's umbilical cord finally fell off and dried up so Daddy and I gave Ari his first bath today. He loved it. We always knew he loved the water but he was so happy in the bath tub. I can't wait to give him more baths since he enjoyed it so much!
